Congressionally recognized

February 17 Declared The Fight Against Suicide Day in Georgia

The Fight Against Suicide is incredibly honored to have been recognized at the Georgia House of Representatives, as February 17, 2026 was officially declared The Fight Against Suicide Day in the State of Georgia.

We extend our sincere thanks to Representative Tangie Herring for recognizing TFAS from the House floor, as well as to Speaker of the House Jon Burns, Representative Deborah Silcox, and Patrick Guthrie.

From our first event held in the Classic City Arena to now being recognized by congressional leaders at the State Capitol, this is a proud testament to how far we've come and the work that still lies ahead of us.

This recognition reinforces the importance of sustainable, year-round suicide prevention on college campuses. We remain committed to expanding our impact through QPR training, campus chapters, and direct mental health support in partnership with The Sam Asbury Foundation.
